MEETING AT CARTERTON EARTHQUAKE DAMAGE. REPAIRS TO BE CARRIED OUT TO OFFICE. (“Times-Age” Special.) Mr G. W. Hart presided over a fair attendance of members of the general committee of the Wairarapa and East Coast P. and A. Society. Apologies for absence were received from Messrs P. Bain, O. A. Cadwallader, V. L. Robinson, J. Johnson, A. Morrison and Geo. Brown. The treasurer’s statement showed a cr. balance at the Bank of £239 8s sd. Letters of thanks were received from Misses I. Barton and Nancy Morrison and Mr I. M. Coutts, who are serving with Middle East Forces for Christmas parcels. One resignation was accepted with regret. ‘ The secretary stated that in connection with the damage done to the offices by the earthquake, Mr Daniell had arranged with Mr D. Andrews, builder of Masterton, to cary out repairs to the building £nd the work was to be put in hand very soon. Mr Daniell’s action in arranging for work to be carried out was endorsed.
