On Friday afternoon, the Borough team, comprising O’Hara Smith, McCord, G. Brown, R. Simpson (s), 18, 1- drew with the Park staff, Trevorrow, y Griffiths (P. Buckley, sub.), Braggins, Knowles (s), 18, after a very interesting game. On the last end Simpson was one up on the board, and lying three, ,i until Braggins trailed the kitty to the ditch to equalise the scores. d' Trevorrow defeated Moore, 25/16, in the handicap singles. ,’ During the week-end another very successful progressive pairs tourney - was held, attracting an entry of 24 players. The green was rather slow for a start, but improved during the r afternoon. Kilgour, with 4 wins, won ’■ the skips’ section on the aggregate from G. Brown, thereby retaining the cup, whilst the leads’ section was won 2 by W. Edwards with four wins. Resuits are: —Skips: 4 wins, Kilgour (58 , points), G. MASTERTON CLUB FOURS COMPETITION GAMES. On Saturday afternoon the Masterton Bowling Club’s greens were fully occupied, when, two rounds in the club fours competition were played. Visitors from Auckland, Gisborne, Nelson and the American Marine Corps also participated in the games.
