BOMBS ON TARGET
AIR ATTACK IN MALAY PENINSULA ENEMY OCCUPIED VILLAGES IN BURMA. AND COMMUNICATIONS ALSO RAIDED. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 9.55 a.m.) RUGBY, February 21. An India communique states: “On Saturday Blenheims, escorted by fighters, attacked Sinbaik, on the Malay Peninsula. All the bombs fell on the target. Later other Blenheims bombed several enemy occupied villages north of Akyab. In the lower Chindwin our Hurricanes shot up railway engines, trucks, bullock carts and a paddle steamer and, in the Kaladan River area, small river craft were attacked and sunk. All our planes returned safely.”
