WELLINGTON WHARF FIRE

JUTE STILL SMOULDERING. QUANTITY OF TEA DESTROYED. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. Inspection today of the scene of the King’s Wharf shed fire revealed damage to walls of the shed and the destruction of the roof leaving' only the steel framework some of which was buckled by the heat. Bales of jute which formed the greater part of the contents of the lower portion of the shed are still smouldering and cooling off operations continue. All the contents of the shed are imported cargo, including a quantity of tea, which was damaged. No assessment of the value of the contents or the damage will be available for some time.
