COMMUNIST PARTY
LABOUR’S ATTITUDE. A REQUEST REFUSED. (By Telegraph—Press Association— Copyright) (Received This Day, 11.45 a.m.) LONDON, February 19. The national executive of the Labour Party has again refused to place before the next Labour Party conference an application from the Communist Party for affiliation. The executive, in a statement, said that the request was refused because the Communist Party’s “complete irresponsibility in British politics and general outlook are entirely out of harmony with the Labour Party’s philosophy and objectives.” Labour’s attitude was influenced by the hope of great social changes in the postwar world.
