WAR SUPPLIES
SHIPMENTS TO RUSSIA FROM AMERICA INCREASED IN DECEMBER. NO MATERIAL LOST. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 9.30 a.m.) ' RUGBY, February 19. The United States Lend-Lease Administrator, Mr Stettinius, reported that January shipments of war supplies to Russia were 10 per cent greater than those in December. None of the material sent was lost. Mu' Stettinius said shipments were constantly increasing and losses must be expected. OFFENSIVE CONTINUES MORE CENTRES CAPTURED BY RUSSIANS. KURSK TO KHARKOV LINE CLEARED BY ENEMY. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 12.25 p.m.) RUGBY, February 19. A Soviet special communique states: “Soviet troops have continued their offensive west and south-west' of Kharkov. They occupied the town and railway station of Lyubotin and the town and railway station of Merefa. In the Kursk area, Soviet troops have occupied the town and railway station of Obeyan, where they encircled the enemy garrison, which was partly annihilated. The rest were taken prisoner. The railway line and highway from Kursk to Kharkov is completely Cleared of the enemy.
