ROTARY CLUB
BUSINESS AT WEEKLY LUNCHEON. MANY VISITORS PRESENT. The weekly luncheon of the Masterton Rotary Club was held today, the president, Mr J. H. Cunningham, being in the chair. Mr Cunningham, in extending ’a welcome to the visitors, especially the members of the Trust Lands Trust, said he hoped that they, as the largest ratepayers in the town, would gain some information of interest to them from Mr Mabson’s address on a proposal to widen Queen Street. The visitors were: Messrs L. Cordery (of the Christchurch Rotary Club), E. J. Heffer, J. E. Jenkins and V. E. Donald, and the following members of the Trust Lands Trust: Messrs A. Owen Jones, J. Macfarlane Laing and J. A. Russell. The chairman of the Trust, Mr H. P. Hugo, sent an apology for his absence. Mr A. A. Corskie was admitted to membership by the inauguration officer, Mr P. F. Fagan. A report of Mr Mabson’s address appears on page 2. Mr Mabson was accorded a hearty vote of thanks for his informative address, on the motion of Mr S. L. P. Free.
