BOMBING IN BURMA
DAMAGE DONE TO AIRFIELDS. AND OTHER ENEMY TARGETS. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, February 16. An India communique states: “Last night the R.A.F. bombed the Heho airfield, in Central Burma. Bursts were observed on runways and dispersal areas. On the previous night the objective was the airfield of Shwebo. Bombs were dropped well in the target area and a large explosion was caused followed by a fire. “Yesterday Blenheims bombed Yegyanbyin, on Akyab Island, and fighters carried out offensive patrols in various parts of enemy-occupied Burma. All our aircraft returned.”
