WOMEN’S REST ROOM FARMERS’ UNION SUGGESTION. (“Times-Age” Special.) At the monthly meeting of the Pongaroa Branch of the Farmers’ Union, on the motion of Mr D. W. Gray, the secretary was instructed to write to the President of the Women’s Division (Mrs Gitchard), suggesting that an attempt be made to rent the unoccupied portion of the old boarding house for a Women’s Rest Room. In this connection the Farmers’ Union has promised its full support. Patriotic Society. At the monthly meeting of the Akitio Women’s Patriotic Society, Mrs A. Campbell tendered her resignation owing to her taking uo a war-time position, The resignation was received with regret. It was decided that a small gift be sent to two returned men who have been invalided home, namely, Messrs John Hartgill and R. Smith, who are in Wellington and Christchurch Hospitals, respectively.
