ST. JOHN AMBULANCE

SUCCESSFUL DANCE HELD ON SATURDAY NIGHT. The St. John Ambulance Brigade held its first dance of the year in the Masonic Hall, Masterton, on Saturday night. The hall was filled to capacity, and all present thoroughly enjoyed the splendid music supplied by Mr Jack Barnes’s Rhythm Boys. The duties of M.C. were capably carried out by Mr C. S. McQuade (Cadet Superintendent) who kept the proceedings going with a swing. A Monte Carlo waltz competition was won by Miss M. G. Dean and Mr R. A. McPhail, while a lucky spot fox trot was won by Miss Jackson and Leading Aircraftman Mullen. Extras were played by Mr W. Raniera and Miss B. Boyd.

Mr McQuade thanked patrons for their support and announced that the next dance would be held on February 27.

It is reported that the St. John Ambulance advertisement board was removed from outside the Post Office on Friday night. The Brigade requests that it be returned to the ambulance rooms, Dixon Street. The Brigade will hold further dances as follows: March 13 and 27; April 17; May 1, 15 and 29; Juno 15 and 26; July 10 and 24; August 21; September 18; October 16 and 30; November 13 and 27; December 11.
