HOMING PIGEONS
MASTERTON CLUB RACE FROM WAIPAWA. The Masterton Homing Pigeon Club held a race on Saturday from Waipawa, an airline distance of 85 miles. Owing to a north-westerly wind only three birds arivcd home on the day of the race. The following were the placings;— I. Mayes’s “Beau Reliance” (time, 3 hrs. 16 mins. 19 secs.), 1; J. Tilyard’s “Night Pal” (time, 3 hrs. 19 mins. 56 sees.), 2; N. Gardiner’s “Blue Glory” (time, 4 hrs. 56 mins. 36 secs.), 3.
