HOPEFUL VIEW
OF POLITICAL SITUATION IN NORTH AFRICA. TAKEN BY BRITISH FOREIGN SECRETARY. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, February 11. Replying in the House of Commons to the debate which followed Mr Churchill’s statement, the Foreign Secretary, Mr Eden, said there were encouraging indications that Frenchmen were getting together of their own volition. Winning the war required unity among Frenchmen x and restraint by Britain would help the position. Mr Eden said Britain had no secret commitments of any kind with any Power at all. _____
