RONGOKOKAKO
WOMEN’S INSTITUTE COMPETITION WINNERS. (“Times-Age” Special.) i The monthly meeting of the Rongokokako Women’s Institute was held at the residence of Mrs Morriss, Senr. Mrs W. J. O’Neil (president) presided over a fair attendance. On account of the stormy .weather the usual garden party could not be held. Mesdames Baucke and Winter were appointed delegates to attend the annual council meeting to be held at Mangamutu. It was decided in future to bake a cake and biscuits and pack them in the local soldiers’ parcels. Two new members were given a hearty welcome. Mrs S. Malton won the skill competition. The other competitions resulted as follows: Shortbread, Mrs F. Goggin, Senr., 1, Mrs J. P. Sigvertsen 2. Large flower, Miss Ursula Payne 1, Mrs Morriss, Senr., 2. Small flower, Mrs Walker 1, Mrs Morriss, Senr., 2. Afternoon tea was served by the hostesses, Mesdames S. Smith and K. Falkner. Mrs O’Neil thanked Mrs Morriss for having allowed the Institute to hold its meeting at her residence.
