WOMEN’S INSTITUTE EIGHTH BIRTHDAY IN APRIL. (“Times-Age” Special.) The monthly meeting of the Kopuaranga Women’s Institute was hejd in the local hall yesterday, Mrs W. J Cottle presiding over a good attendance. It was decided to celebrate the Institute’s eighth birthday in April. Mmbers were reminded that nomination papers must be returned to the secretary by the end of February. It was decided to hold a bring and buy stall in Mair ch. Afternoon tea was served by the hostesses, Mesdames Cottle and Hewitt. On behalf of Ihstitute members; Mrs Cottle made a presentation to Mrs Hatch; whose marriage took place recently in Christchurch. Mrs Hatch thanked the members for their gift and their good wishes. The competition winners were: —Collection of four, vegetables: Mrs Hewitt 1, Mrs Jarrett 2, Mrs Hanson 3. Best bloom: Mrs Hewitt 1, Mrs Wright 2, Mrs Jarrett 3.
