The discovery of a Nazi conspiracy involving Brizilian Army officers, soldiers, civilians and Lutheran Church officials is announced by the Brazilian authorities. All the conspirators have been gaoled. The plot included a vast conspiratorial organisation which penetrated the Army and urged soldiers to desert and shoot down Brazilians in the event of an invasion. Many military personnel allegedly stole arms and ammunition from Government depots and secreted them for revolutionaries. The Nazis established night encampments for the training of recruits. The conspirators possessed detailed plans of military establishments and vital utilities near Cruzalta, in the State of Rio Grande do Sul, where the conspiracy centred.
