R.S.A. MEMBERSHIP
NEW RECORD ESTABLISHED. MANY SECOND N.Z.E.F. MEMBERS JOINING. The financial membership of the Wairarapa R.S.A. has reached a new record. At last night’s meeting of the Central Committee of the Wairarapa R.S.A., the secretary, Mr A. E. Prentice, stated that the financial membership of the Association had reached the unprecedented total of 901, including 51 returned members of the Second N.Z.E.F. That total, he said, exceeded the previous record attained on March 31, 1942, by 39. Eighteen new members were elected last night, including 16 members of the Second N.Z.E.F. It was stated that the total membership of the N.Z.R.S.A., as at December 31 last, .was 37,845, including 2,131 returned members of the Second N.Z.E.F
Referring to the Wairarapa membership, Mr Prentice said it was estimated that 95 per cent of the known ex-service men in the Wairarapa district were financial members of the Wairarapa R.S./x. Only 28 out of a total of 862 members last year had not renewed their subscriptions for the current year.
