RAIDS ON CRETE

MADE BY MIDDLE EAST , BOMBERS OPERATIONS BY PLANES FROM MALTA. OVER SICILY AND TUNISIA. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 1.0 p.m.) RUGBY, February 11. A Middle East communique says: “On Tuesday night medium bombers attacked aerodromes at Heraklion and Kaistelli Pedisda. in Crete. Torpedobombers attacked a ship off the south coast of Italy on the same night, while intruder aircraft from Malta were active over Sicily and Tunisia. Yesterday Malta’s fighter-bombers attacked railway targets in Southern Sicily, and heavy bombers made a daylight attack on shipping in Palermo Harbour. All our planes returned.”
