“KITTY FOYLE” “Kitty Foyle” will be finally shown tonight. DOUBLE FEATURE PROGRAMME. Roddy McDowall figures in “On the Sunny Side,” a stirring story which will be screened tomorrow night at the State Theatre. A lad bombed out of his home faces life with courage. It is another Hollywood tribute to the courage with which the people of Britain have faced up to the ordeal of a warfare from which no corner is safe, and carries its story with evacuees to the United States of America itself. McDowall has the support of Jane Darwell, Stanley Clements, Ann Todd, Jill Esmond, and Katherine Alexander. “Sun Valley Serenade,” a brilliant musical comedy, is the other feature. Starring Sonja Henie and John Payne, the film is a musical delight, with the featured orchestra led by Glen Miller, one of the foremost American rhythm band leaders. This is a grand entertainment, in which spectacular outdoor scenes are profusely provided and the catchy musical items and lavish dance productions are blended into a strong plot. As is to be expected, glittering ice scenes are an integral part of “Sun Valley Serenade.” Sonja Henie plays a new role in this presentation, and acquits herself magnificently as a Norwegian refugee.
