PATRIOTIC SOCIETY SUCCESSFUL EUCHRE PARTY. (“Times-Age” Special.) The Patriotic Society held a very successful euchre party on Saturday evening. The winners at cards were: Ladies, Mrs Burch; men, Mr B. Rolls. The following goods were sold by auction: Apples, donated by ' Mi' H. Percy, realised 4s; Mrs S. Edmonds donated beans realising 2s 9d; beetroot from Mrs Clee, 5s 9d. A competitionfor a 10s grocery order donated by Mrs Youell was won by Master G. Edmonds. Another competition was won by Mrs Burch, the prize being donated by Mrs Algie. Mrs S. Edmonds donated a pack of playing cards. The hostesses were Mesdames J. McDonald and A. McDonald. The Patriotic Society thank the following who did knitting during December and January for the forces: — Mesdames E. I. McLean, R. W. Kebbell. Algie, Cooper, Sent., T. Algie, Dickens, Henderson, Low, Heckler, Hull, Misses Hare'and E. McLean and Mr John Hull. Personal. Pilot Officer and Mrs R. Weston are the guests of Mr and Mrs Avery Weston. Miss O. Petersen is visiting Mrs Johnson. Women’s Institute. Members of the Women's Institute held a meeting on Saturday afternoon at the home of the president, Mrs Hull. The time was spent in sorting refugees’ garments. It was decided to hold the next fleeting on March 4 in the Public Hall when a case of food would be packed and sent to the A.N.A. Club. The ladies who are to bake biscuits during the month for soldiers’ parcels are: Mesdames Godinagh, Burch and: ?ayne.
