WAIRARAPA ASSOCIATION SENIOR CHAMPIONSHIP. WINS FOR RED STAR AND COLLEGE. The Wairarapa Cricket Association’s senior championship games were continued on Saturday when wins were obtained by Red Star and Wairarapa College. SENIOR CHAMPIONSHIP RED STAR v AIR FORCE. GOOD BATTING BY N. HOAR. Good batting by Newman Hoar, who retired when he had scored 64 which included ten 4’s and a 6, and Mahoney taking 3 wickets for one run. were the outstanding features of the Red StarAir Force match which was played on the Park Oval and which was won by. the Red Star team on the first innings. Stewart scored 37 for Air Force by vigorous batting. He hit two 6’s and four 4’s. Scores:— Red Star: 4 wickets ' for 150, declared (N. Hoar, retired 64, Holme 27, Bell 26, Williams 17; Stewart 3 for 54, Milne 1 for 22). Air Force: Ist innings 60 (Drury, not out, 15, Peake 11; Mahoney 3 for 1,. N. Hoar 4 for 18, F. Hoar 3 for 38). Second innings, 6 fbr 91, Stewart 37, Killick not out 13; Mahoney 2 for 30, F. Hoar 1 for 3, N. Hoar 1 for 8, Rew 1 for 13, Holme 1 for 15). COLLEGE v OLD BOYS. SOME GOOD BATTING. The Wairarapa College and Old Boys met on the College ground. O’Reilly played a good innings for Old Boys for 37, Which included six 4’s, while Sweeney’s excellent 61 not out (including ten 4’s) was chiefly responsible for the College win. Scores:— Wairarapa College, 4 wickets for 161 (Sweeney, not out, 61, Liver 34, Masters 22, Hayes 19, Bannister 10) Trapp 2 for 26, Barr 1 for 26, McMichael 1 for 33). Old Boys, 159 (O’Reilly 37, Trapp 31, Jones 22, A. Whiteman 21, Stevens 15; Hayes 6 for 17, K. Masters 1 for 11, O’Brien 1 for 20, Sweeney 1 for 55).
