APPOINTMENT SOON
UNITED STATES MINISTER TO AUSTRALIA. FORMER AMBASSADOR TO JAPAN MENTIONED. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day, 10.30 a.m.) WASHINGTON, February 2. President Roosevelt told a Press conference that he hoped soon to make a new appointment to the post of Minister to Australia. Asked if his nominee would be Mr Joseph Grew (former American Ambassador to Japan), he replied that he had not made a decision.
