Mrs Craig, Wanganui, is the guest of Mrs D. Buchanan, Lansdowne. Mrs H. P. Glen, College Street, Masterton, has returned from Castlepoint. Mrs J. B. Henry, Auckland, is staying with Mrs T. W. Wardell, Te Whiti. Miss M .Sellar, who has been on a visit to Masterton, has returned to Paraparaumu Beach.

I Members of the St. John Ambulance l Brigade and of the E.P.S. Medical Section assembled after their parades in Masterton last night to honour Sergeant Stanley Thomas, prioi- to his entering camp. The guest of honour, who was a sergeant in the St. John Ambulance, is a sergeant-major in the E.P.S. unit. Superintendent J. C. Cooper made a presentation to Sergeant Thomas, and Dr. Archer Hosking referred to the splendid service rendered by Sergeant Thomas during his 13 years of service with the Brigade. Sergeant Thomas, he said, was an efficient and capable officer. Sergeant Thomas returned thanks. At the twenty-first annual conference of the Associated Booksellers of New Zealand, held in Wellington, the following officers were elected for the ensuing year:—President, H. E.
