BRITISH RAID
ON NORWEGIAN COAST CARRIED OUT SUCCESSFULLY. ANSWER TO GERMAN CLAIMS. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 9.35 a.m.) RUGBY, January 26. It is officially stated in London that a successful combined operations raid on the Norwegian coast was carried out recently. An account given by the German news agency was that seven British motor, torpedo-boats attempted to reach Oslo Fiord on Satorday night to land sabotage troops and that the coastal defences drove off the attackers, only five of which were later seen retiring, so the destruction of two was assumed.
