SWIMMING SPORTS LAST NIGHT’S RESULTS. (“Times-Age” Special.) Another successful swimming meeting was held by the Carterton Amateur Swimming Club last evening at the Municipal Baths. There was a large attendance of spectators. Good entries were received and excellent times were registered by the winning competitors. Those who controlled the sports were Messrs J .McKenzie (handicapper), L. J. Fairbrother (starter and timekeeper), Messrs F. Taplin and C. Holland (stewards). The races were got off without delay, and some very close finishes were witnesed. The results were as follow: — \

Personal Items. Mr and Mrs L. J. Harris returned to Carterton after a holiday spent in Dannevirke. Mrs G .Stroud, of Dannevirke, is staying with her parents, Mr and Mrs J. Steel, Wyndham Street. Mr and Mrs J. C. Harp, of Carterton, have received cabled advice from their son, Alan, who is overseas, that he is fit and well. Mrs Meyer will leave Carterton for Invercargill shortly. Her husband, Sergeant Meyer, is serving in the military forces. Sale of Business. The stationer’s and news agency business carried on by-Messrs C. and F. Baynes during the past 4| years has been sold to Mrs E. M. Fisher, who will take possession on February 8. Druids’ Lodge. Presided over by Arch Druid Bro. H. J. Bassett, Totara Lodge, No. 3, United Ancient Order of Druids, met last night, In connection with bereavements suffered, votes of condolence were passed to Bros. S. V. and A. Kay, and Bros. Harold and Percy Hodder. Grand Lodge notified that Bro. W. Fryer had been elected District President for No. 1 District, and would be installed in March. Two declarations off ,the,-sick funds were received, after which the sum of £6 5s 4d was passed for payment. Bros. T. E. Geange and L. Fryer, on active service overseas, wrote advising that they were well, and sent greetings to Lodge members. Bro. C. Smith was installed into the office of Arch Druid Bard by District Pi'esident Bro. H. J. Dew. REGENT THEATRE “BEYOND THE BLUE HORIZON” “Beyond the Blue Horizon” will be the star picture at the Regent Theatre tonight, when Dorothy Lamour will be seen in an exciting world of thrills, laughs, romance and comedy. Richard Denning is also in the picture.
