MAN ARRESTED

CHARGE OF STEALING CAR ADMITTED. POSSIBILITY OF FURTHER CHARGE. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) PALMERSTON N., January 25. _ Following on further police investigations into the death of a Maori woman, Alice Takarua, aged about 20, who lived with her parents at Motuiti Pa, near Foxton, James Trevor Morgan, labourer, aged 29, Palmerston North, appeared in the Magistrate’s Court, Palmerston North, charged with breaking and entering Jolly and Mills’ garage and stealing a Ford V 8 car. He pleaded guilty. Intimating that ,there was a possibility of a further serious charge against Morgan, Senior Detective Meiklejohn asked for a remand till Tuesday next. This was granted, Morgan not asking for bail.
