“WEEK-ENDN IN HAVANA.” “Week-end in> Havana” will be shown finally tonight. “CASTLE IN THE DESERT.” One of the best of the Charlie Chan series of mystery thrillers is “Castle in the Desert,” the 20th Century-Fox production screening at the State Theatre tomorrow night. In this “weird, lonely castle of death,” occur happenings which keep the audience in a state of suspense and excitement throughout, and the atmosphere created by the appearance of some horrific characters in a most unusual setting is tense and gripping. Charlie Chan is the guest of honour in a household visited by a fiendish crime ,and he has plenty of opportunity to exercise his talents in finding a solution of the mystery. The associate feature is the brilliant comedy, “Marry the Boss’s Daughter.” This comedy starts with Bruce Edwards, a young man from the West, coming to New York to seek his fortune. He is a very systematic fellow. Brenda goes for his unusual technique, and talks Pop into giving this handsome boy with, a’tricky line a job. How he sells himself to the boss’s daughter makes for an unusual comedy film.
