MILITARY AWARDS
BRIGADIER KIPPENBERGER & MAJOR BEVAN. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, January 23. The Minister’ of Defence, Mr F. "ones, has announced the following mmediate awards:— Bar to D.S.O. —Brigadier H. K. Kiplenberger, D.S.O. His wife.is Mrs R. Kippenberger, of Rangiora. Before enlisting at Christchurch, in Septem>er, 1939, Brigadier Kippenberger serv'd for 2J years with the First N.Z.E.F. nd fourteen years with the New Zeaand Territorial Force. He sailed with he First Echelon and was promoted Brigadier in 1941. He was wounded in December, 1941, and subsequently was awarded the D.S.O. and was mentioned in despatches. D.S.O. —Major T. H. Bevan. His wife is Mrs G. Bevan, of Onehunga. Major Bevan departed overseas with the Second Echelon. He was mentioned in despatches early in 1942. Reported wounded in the present' Libyan campaign, he had twelve years’ service with the Territorial Force before he enlisted in January, 1941.
