RAILWAY MISHAP
WELLINGTON RACE TRAFFIC DELAYED. SOME DAMAGE TO GOODS TRAIN. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The 9.53 race train to Trentham ran into the back of a goods train beyond Ngahauranga. The van of the goods train was derailed and thrown against the cycle track fence. Two trucks were teescoped and a large piece of wood went right into the guard’d van and pierced the roof. The accident seriously delayed race traffic and the start of the meeting was put back for an hour. Nobody was injured in the accident, but there were a number of narrow escapes.
