TE WHITI BRIDGE

WORK TO BE RESUivitD NEXT MONTH. ADVICE FROM PRIME MINISTER. Work on the construction of the new concrete bridge over the Ruamahanga River at Te Whiti is expected to be resumed in the immediate future. The Masterton County Council has been advised by the Prime Minister, Mr Fraser, that the Commissioner of Defence has instructed the contractors, Messrs W. M .Angus, Ltd., to resume work on the bridge in the first week of February. Work on the bridge was suspended last May, owing to more urgent contracts elsewhere requiring precedence. Three parts of the construction work on the bridge remain to be carried out.
