SALE AT ADDINGTON. VALUES IRREGULAR. (By Tplpsraph—Prnsc Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, January 20. At Addington, market values were irregular today. Fat cattle were again lower and light ewes down to expert values. Good fat sheep sold well. Store sheep: Best quality Jambs sold well up to recent rates. Medium lambs also sold well, but poorer class sheep showed a decline of up to 3s a head. Fat sheep: As' the sale progressed competition became keen for best quality lines. The highest price for wethers was 395, and for light ewes 265. Fat cattle: There was a funner casing in prices of fat cattle. After last week s drop of 25s to 30s a head, there was an overage drop today of approximately 255, representing in two weeks tin cosing of about 6s per 1001 b., thus reducing values to the level of the fixed retail prices. Fat pigs- In the porker section competition was keen, the sale finishing up with prices from 3s to 4s a head in advance of last week’s rates. The average price per lb was 7>/ 2 d to B%d. In the bacon section values were better by from 5s to 6s a head, the average price being 7d to 8d per lb. MASTERTON SALE LAMB PRICES DOWN. The Masterton Auctioneers’ Association held their weeky sale yesterday to a fair attendance of buyers. As in previous weeks most of the offering was lambs, white face predominating. Top b.f. and white face lambs were down by Is, and medium lambs at least 2s. Cull lambs maintained late rates. Practically no fats were offered There was a small offering of 4-tooth and 2-tooth wethers, selling at 18s 4d and 17s 3d, respectively. The following are the prices:—Fat ewes, 10s Stores: B.F. lambs, 17s 7cl, 17s, 16s 6d to 13s: small, Ils, 8s 6d, 7s. 6s lOd to 6s Cd: w.v/. lambs, 17s 7d, 14s Bd, 13s 6d, 12s Id, 11s 6d, 11s 4d to 10s: small, 7s 9d, 6s, as 4d: shorn medium lambs, 12s (id; ewe lambs, medium, 12s 4d. 9s 6d; cull, 6s. Pigs: Weaners. 325, 29s 6d.
