EWINGTON BADGES. ] (Notes by “The Bowler.”) An enjoyable match was played on the Masterton Club’s green yesterday afternoon for the J. C. Ewington J Badges. . The holders of the badges were A. J Hendry, T. T. Denbee, Doughty and C. , Perry (s), of the Masterton Club, and the challengers, C. Moore, A. Reader, * E. Brown and Kilgour (s), of the Park ( Club. j The green was in excellent order, ( but the gusty winds made it difficult for good drawing. ; Prior to the commencement of the | match, Mr E. W. Nielson, in the ab- i sence of the club’s president, Mr H. j Thomas, extended a hearty welcome to ( the Park veterans, and referred to the ( many pleasant and enjoyable games j which had been played for a number j of years past between the Masterton ; and Park clubs. 1 Mr Kilgour, on behalf of the Park 1 Club, sincerely thanked Mr Nielson for . the cordial welcome extended to his 1 team. ' The match was a most interesting one up to the 13th head, but there- ' after the Masterton team scored 13 points to their opponents 5. . • The details are as follow: —At the • 4th head the scores were Masterton 3, Park 4. Masterton was leading on the 7th head by 4 points. The scores were even on the 11th head, 9 all. Masterton was 2 points ahead on the 13th head, but they scored 5 points on the 14th head, which gave them a lead of 7 points. At the 16th head, the scores were: Masterton 21, Park 11. On the next 2 .heads, Park put on 3 points, still leaving Masterton with a lead of 7 points, with 3 heads to play. The game concluded on the 21st head, the score board showing Masterton 25, Park 15. I understand that the holders have already received a challenge from the other veteran members of the Masterion Club. ~ x j Mr H. H. Daniell, an ex-president oi the Masterton Club, has generously donated to the club, bicycle stands, to accommodate 12 bicycles, and I am sure these wilt be greatly appreciated by the owners of bicycles. McCullough trophy. Up to the present, 12 games have been played for the McCullough Trophy. W. Christian is leading with 10 wins, and the next in order are C. Perry 7 wins, and DeCastro 6 wins.
