MANY AIR ATTACKS

ON JAPANESE IN BURMA. (British Official I Wireless.) (Received This Day, -9.50 a.m.) RUGBY, January 20. An India communique states: “Strong enemy resistance continues in the Arakan area (in Burma). Blenheims bombed the village of Padali on Tuesday. Enemy fighters were encountered and combats occurred between these and the escorting fighters. One Japanese plane was destroyed and others were damaged. Our aircraft all returned. “Another attack was made on Rathedaung later in the day, and also on positions nearby, and on water transport elsewhere. The aerodrome at Meiktila was attacked on Monday.
