Russian reports today state' that Soviet troops have driven out the Germans from eleven more towns and a railway station in their drive along the Grosny-Rostov railway, in the Western Caucasus 1 . The Germans launched a counter-attack with masses of tanks, but were driven back with huge losses. On the central front the Germans suffered heavy losses south-west of Velikiye Luki. Soviet troops have consolidated their gains in the western suburbs of Stalingrad.
