NO TOURNAMENT ■ ON ANNIVERSARY DAY. (“Times-Age” Special.) In view of the transport difficulties the local Bowling Club has decided not to hold its usual tournament on Anniversary Day. For many years past this tournament has provided funds which have been used for improvements to the green. Personal Items. Mr and Mrs W. J. Knell, West Street, have received advice that their son-in-law, Pilot Officer C. R Knowles, who has been at Singapore, is safe and well. This is the first news received concerning Pilot Officer Knowles for over 12 months. Miss Joan Bouzaid returned home today after a holiday spent in WellingtoMr and Mrs F. Wood have returned to their home in West Street after having spent a holiday at Paekakariki. TOWN HALL “THE RELUCTANT DRAGON.” One of the most extraordinary pictures ever brought to the screen, “The Reluctant Dragon,” which will be shown tonight, is»Walt Disney’s best effort. It is an epic in the making of motion pictures and incidentally shows how Disney’s world-famous characters —Donald Duck, Goofy, and the Seven Dwarfs —are made.
