NOMINATED BY PRESIDENT AS MINISTER TO AUSTRALIA. AND PERSONAL REPRESENTATIVE (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day, 12.15 p.m.) WASHINGTON, January 11. President Roosevelt has sent Mr Flynn’s nomination to the Senate, as his personal representative, with the rank of ambassador. In a letter to Mr Flynn, President Roosevelt said: “I am appointing you my personal representative, with the rank of ambassador. I do so because in the very large area of the South-West Pacific I want to feel free to avail myself of your services in various other forms of activity over and above your duties as Minister.”
