SETTLERS FAREWELLED
MR AND MRS J. H. S. COLE.
GATHERING AT HOMEBUSH.
(“Times-Age” . Special.) A very enjoyable time was spent at “Glen Isla,” Homebush, on Saturday evening, when many settlers and friends gathered to bid farewell to Mr and Mrs J. H. S. Cole and family, who are leaving the districet to take up their residence in Hastings. Dancing ana community singing were indulged, in, the music being provided by a piano and violin. Mr Andrew Donald, the oldest resident of the district, referred to the high esteem in which Mr and Mrs Cole and family were held, and in calling upon Mrs Cole to accept a silver teapot anda salad bowl, said he was sure Mr and Mrs Cole would make good citizens wherever they went. He wished them the best of luck, good health and prosperity in their new home. Mr W. Moore endorsed the remarks made by Mr Donald. Mr Cole suitably replied and said that he hoped the many friends they were leaving behind would come and see them in their new home. Sqpper was provided. ' Mr and Mrs Cole and family left today for their home in Hastings.
