SEASONAL FOGS

HAVE LIMITED BOMBING FROM BRITAIN BETTER WEATHER NOW IN PROSPECT “MORE EXTENSIVE DELIVERY OF BOMBS.” PROMISED BY SIR STAFFORD CRIPPS. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, January 9. The Minister of Aircraft Production, Sir Stafford Cripps, in a speech today said that some people might have thought that the intensity of bombing had rather fallen off in the last two months. It had not been as heavy as the Government or the commander-in-chief, Bomber Command, would have liked. This was due to seasonal mists and fog which should now be passing, enabling a more extensive delivery of bombs over Germany and Italy. Sir Stafford, who was speaking to aircraft workers, stressed the importance of their job as part of the war effort. “We are fighting not only to save our freedom and democracy,” be said, “but also to get a better and more equitable set-up than we had before in our industries, homes, education and other phases of life. In this battle we are part of a great team. We are associated with the designers, technicians and workers in the vast aircraft factories in Russia. This adds to the responsibility and honour of our task."
