MISS K. WICKENS.

GATHERING AT ST. PATRICK’S HALL.

Miss K. Wickens, a very popular resident of Masterton, whose marriage is to take place later in the month, was the guest of honour at a social gathering in St. Patrick’s Hall on Saturday night. There was a large number of friends present. The time was spent in an enjoyable manner in card playing, competitions and musical items. The latter were contributed by a troupe of juvenile singers under the leadership of Miss M. Greenlees. Vocal solos were given by Miss Norah Boyle and Miss Marjorie Hourigan. Miss Ola Curry and Master Jack Ryan contributed dance items, and Miss Norah Doyle a recitation. Miss M. Nee was the accompaniste.

During the evening Mr W. Orange extended to Miss Wickens and Mr J. F. McDonald the good wishes of those present for their future happiness. He asked them to accept the many parcels brought to the gathering. Mr McDonald Suitably replied. The hostesses were Mesdames A. J. Hume, W. Orange, W. Brady and Miss M, Diggins.
