(By Telegraph—Pl’tess Association—Copyright) SYDNEY, January 10. The Tasman flying-boat from Auckland reached Sydney _ last week with one engine out of action. There were 17 civilian passengers aboard. The flying-boat was well on its journey when trouble developed in the outerstarboard engine and the plane began to lose height. Messages 'indicated that the plane was able to continue the flight and aircraft from the Australian mainland put out to meet it. They escorted the flying-boat to Sydney, where it arrived two hours late. Passengers said that soon after the engine failed the flyingboat went so low thht it seemed to be skimming the waves. Later it gained a height of about 600 feet with three engines. _________
