SOUTH FEATHERSTON

EUCHRE AND DANCE WAR SERVICE COMMITTEE. (“Times-Age” Special.) There was a good attendance at the euchre party and dance held in the South Featherston Hall by the War Service Committee, visitors from all parts of <he Wairarapa being present. Mr T. Udy’s Band provided the music, extras being played by the Misses N. and M. Tocker. Mr Graham carried out the duties of M.C. The Monte Carlo waltz was won by Able Seaman Arthur and Mrs Schenkel. The card winners were: Ladies. Mrs A. Gain 1, Mrs G. Cuff 2; meh, Mr Thompson 1, Mr Thurston 2. Supper was served by a ladies’ committee. The Christmas cake was won by Mervyn Gain, and the ham by Mr J. M. Jepson, Senr. Personal Items. Miss Olive Gain has returned to Hastwell after a few days spent with Mrs Duncan Robertson. Pte. T. Gain, of Palmerston North, is spending leave here. Mr and Mrs Sidney Burt, of Wellington, are the guests of Mrs F. C. Benton, South Featherston. Miss Roma Burt, of Palmerston North, is staying with her father, Mr F. W. Burt, South Featherston. Miss Gertie Burt is a South Featherston visitor to Picton. Miss June White, of Palmerston North, is visiting her aunt. Miss Willis, South Featherston. Miss M, Dick is visiting her parents at Hawera. Miss Hazel Lumsden has returned to Wellington after having spent a holiday in South Featherston.
