GRASS FIRE DANGER IN DRY WEATHER. (“Times-Age” Special.) A grass fire occurred yesterday in a paddock owned by Mr T. Ray. Practically the whole of the paddock was swept by the fire before it was put out. In the present dry weather care should be exercised by residents in burning rubbish. Rubbish fires should not be started without authority of the Fire Brigade or Borough Council. Soldier To Be Honoured. The Parkvale Hall should be filled tomorrow night, when the residents will entertain Corporal A. H. Deller, 'of Moreton Road, who is spending his leave in Carterton. Personal items. Mrs C. Carwell-Cooke, of Wadestown, is the guest of her sister, Mrs R. Nix, Garrison Street, Carterton. Aircraftman Doug. Vaughan and Mrs Vaughan are visiting Carterton. Mr and Mrs Geo. R. Grimmer, of Palmerston North, are the guests of Mr and Mrs Harold’Revall, Kokotau. Social Gathering and Dance. Members of the Carterton Football Club will hold a social gathering and dance in St. Mary’s Hall, Carterton, on Tuesday, in honor of Mr C. M. Kiddie, who has joined the Air Force. REGENT THEATRE ' TWO BIG FEATURES. At the Regent Theatre tonight there will be presented two big features. ■‘Black Cat” provides a sensational drama, with Basil Rathbone and Hugh Herbert portraying the chief characters. The other picture ,is the screaming story of the navy, “Sailors on Leave,” in which William Lundigan and Shirley Ross provide comedy of a high standard.
