British engineers have just completed the job of rebuilding two of Turkey’s principal ports, Alexandretta and Mersin, the 8.8. C. reported recently. Supplies valued at £9,000,000 pounds were said to have been sent to Turkey since July, 1940. Orders carried out through the United Kingdom commercial corporation, include such vital materials as railway locomotives, constructional steel, mining machinery, cables, manufactured cotton and woollens. “Then again we have supplied the Turkish people with rubber, oil, tin conserves, tea and general J™ 21 ’ - chandise,” a- spokesman stated. 'They have also had military equipment, tents, boots, and even hot water bottles.”
