SUGAR FOR JAM
JANUARY AND FEBRUARY RATIONS. SAME AS IN DECEMBER. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The Minister of Supply (Mr Sullivan) announced that the sugar ration for January and February would be the same as in December,* that is, six lbs. per month against eacli ration book, comprising a three lb. basic ration and three lb. for making jams and preserves. The February coupons will be available from January 18 so as to enable housewives to obtain from the earliest possible date sugar for jam making.
Allowances to manufacturers for January and February will also be the same as in December. Mr Sullivan'said the tea ration for January and February will remain at eight ounces per head for each month. The February coupons will not be available until February 1.
