Mr and Mrs H. McKenzie Douglas, Masterton. are visiting Blenheim. Mrs E. J. Jenkins, Renall Street, Masterton, is staying at Paraparaumu Beach. Mrs H. McKay, Renall Street, Masterton, is spending the Christmas period with her sister, Mrs J. H. Tatham, Homewood. Mr T. R. Rollo. Opaki, announces the engagement of his youngest daughter, Joan Alison, to Leading Aircraftman Maurice Leonard, third son of Mr and Mrs R. B. Hunt, Mt. Bruce. Appointments to the Veterinary Surgeons’ Board are announced in last night’s Gazette. They are are follows: Mr W. C. Ring, Dr C. S. M. Hopkirk, and Mr H. S. S. Kyle, M.P. Mr G. G. Newson, a field secretary of the Y.M.C.A., left Masterton today for his home in Christchurch to spend his leave. In civilian life.Mr Newson is a well-known, member of the broadcasting service. . Messrs J. Bradbury and S. Geary left Masterton today for Hastings, where they will represent the Wairarapa Coursing Club at the annual conference of North Island greyhound coursing clubs. Several branch managers of the Bank of New Zealand have had their appointments changed as follows: —Mr J. J. E. Downey, manager at Wellsi’ord, to be manager at Carterton; Mr C. C. Callender, manager at Carterton, to be manager at Inglewood; Mr E. W. T. Thane, manager at Foxton, to be manager at Greytown; Mr F. Dewhirst, manager at Greytown, to be manager at Petone.
