JAPANESE BASE AT KISKA POUNDED SUBMARINE BASE & CAMPS DAMAGED. BOMBERS ACTIVE ALSO IN SOUTHERN AREAS. LONDON, December 22. In file war against Japan American bombers have flown to the Aleutians and again pounded the Japanese base at Kiska. All the planes got back safely. A Washington communique states that the bombers damaged a submarine base, several camps and buildings. In the South Pacific Flying Fortresses have again attacked Japanese island bases. In New Georgia they bombed the Munda area and off the coast of Bougainville Flying Fortresses attacked two Japanese cargo ships. One was hit and was later seen to settle down bv the stern.
