OBITUARY

MR W. J. WILLOUGHBY. The death occurred in Masterton this morning of Mr Williarii John Willoughby, of 47 Short Street, at the age of 68 years. Mr Willoughby was born at Woodstock, Hokitika, and came to the Wairarapa twenty-six years ago. During that time he resided in Masterton where he was a keen member of the local Salvation Army Corps, being secretary in addition to being a bandsman. He was well known throughout the district. He was also an active Salvationist in Petone and on the West Coast. Mr Willoughby is survived by a widow, one son, Mr W. H, Willoughby (Lower Hutt) and two daughters, Mesdames D. Christie (Masterton) and P. A. Reveirs (Ohakune), to whom the sympathy of a wide circle of friends will be extended. The funeral will take place in Masterton tomorrow, leaving the Salvation Army Citadel, Lincoln Road, following a service at 2 p.m. for the Masterton Cemetery. MRS M. WAIPUKA. The death occurred in the Masterton Hospital on Saturday afternoon of Mrs Mabel Waipuka at the age of 44 years. The late Mrs Waipuka who was born in the Homewood district was well known throughout the coast district. She lived at Taueru for a number of years, but recently had resided in Masterson . ‘Sire is survived by her husband, six daughters and two sons. A daughter predeceased ht-r. The funeral took place in Masterton-' this afternoon.
