TE ORE ORE SCHOOL

END OF YEAR.CELEBRATED. CHRISTMAS CAKE FOR PUPILS. The pupils of the Te Ore Ore School celebrated the end of the school year by eating a large Christmas cake, the ingredients for which had been supplied by the children, who mixed it at the school. Mrs J. McDonald, the wife of the chairman of the school committee, kindly baked the cake, which was then suitably iced by the senior girls. Eefore the cake was cut by Pat Carroll, dux of the school, the head teacher, Mrs McRae, congratulated the Form 2 pupils upon all gaining their primary school certificates. Awards for the year were:— Primary School Certificates: Pat Carroll. Hinerau Haeata, Noline Rimene, DouglasSimpson, Mary Finlay, Teowai Karaitiana. Junior Red Cross Certificates: Hinerau Haeata, Valerie Rimene, Mary Finlay. Shirley Mackley, Eileen Albert. Pat Carroll, Douglas Simpson, Teowai Karaitiana, Noeleen Curry, Rita Finlay, Gloria Haeata, Golden Potangaroa, Tom Haeata, Torn Elers, Cook Rimene, Cowie Rimene, Johnnie Haeata. Bronze Medallion for Life Saving, December, 1942: Hinerau Haeata, Gloria Haeata, Teowai Karaitiana, Tom Haeata. Distance Certificates in Swimming, December. 1942: Teowai Karaitiana. 440 yards; Hinerau Haeata, 220 yards; Douglas Simpson, 100 yards. ,
