FIREBLIGHT TREATMENT
PICTORIAL DIAGRAM ON VIEW.
A pictorial diagram showing how to eradicate fireblight in fruit trees was displayed to the older children of Masterton schools yesterday by Mr Mason Davey, orchard instructor, and Mr F. C. Brockett, school agricultural instructor. Tire diagram shows the growing tips inoculated by aphides, the appearance of the infected fruit and of the cankers. The point at which infected branches should be severed and at which the cankers should be cut away are clearly shown. Other manifestations of the disease are also depicted. . The diagram, which is set out in colours, was prepared by Mr Davey. It is now on view to the general public in the window of Messrs C. E. Daniell Ltd., Queen Street.
