EXTENDING IN TUNISIA FURTHER HEAVY RAIDS ON TUNIS & BIZERTA. NUMBER OF GERMAN FIGHTERS DESTROYED. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) LONDON, December 17.. Greater air support is being given to the land forces in Tunisia and heavy raids by Flying Fortresses have been made on the docks at Tunis and Bizerta. Ammunition dumps, railways and enemy troops in and near the battle area have also been successfully attacked. In sweeps over Tunisia a number of German fighters have been destroyed. From all operations only one plane is missing. In Southern Tunisia an American patrol brought in more than a score of Italian prisoners. It is revealed that eight Allied raids were made on Tunis and Bizerta last Sunday and Monday.
