ELECTRIC POWER
MEETING OF WAIRARAPA BOARD HELD AT CARTERTON TODAY. NEW METER READING DATES. (“Times-Age” Special.) The monthly meeting of the Wairarapa Electric Power Board was held at Carterton today. The chairman, Mr A. C. Pearce, presided. The secretary-manager, Mr G. Brown, stated that as a commencement had been made on the bi-monthly and fourmonthly meter readings there would not, for the next twelve months, be any figures on which an accurate assessment of revenue and profit could be made. The essential information which was being denied the board was one of the disadvantages of a changeover, which was more or less forced upon the board by existing circumstances. Consumers, however, had responded well to the new arrangement and a very large proportion of the accounts had been paid.
It was decided not to hold a meeting in January. By a resolution passed at the last meeting of the board the Press was excluded from the meeting of the finance committee this morning, as well as from all future meetings of the committee.
